Just-In-Time Coaching for Students
We provide a certified Life Coach on site during the school day for student use. Students are referred by school staff,
often as the result of a disciplinary event or other situation. Students set goals and propose actions that serve them.
Students learn to self-assess whether their behavior is in alignment with their goals and identify issues that
may be interfering. The result is a newfound self-awareness in the student, leading to a sense of empowerment,
improvements in attitude, and accountable movement forward.
When asked what one thing they learned, students who received JIT Coaching said:
" I learned that I can do a lot more than I thought I could."
" I learned some steps I can take to becoming a child-care center owner" .
" I learned that I can proactively manage my anger."
" I learned to connect my present to my future."
In a recent study 129 of 130 participants surveyed indicated they were able to identify specific goals, identify
specific actions to reach their goals, and could see new connections between classroom learning and their goals.
